Rita Kothari
Rita Kothari is Professor of English and the Head of the Department of English at Ashoka University. She is a multilingual scholar and translator whose work spans across different disciplines such as literature, cultural studies, anthropology, sociology, and history. Professor Kothari has translated extensively from Gujarati and Sindhi into English and occasionally vice versa. (read more)
Arunava Sinha
Arunava Sinha is Professor of Creative Writing at Ashoka University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (English Honours) from Jadavpur University. He translates classic, modern, and contemporary Bengali fiction and non-fiction into English, and from English into Bengali. Over fifty of his translations have been published so far. (read more)
Venkat Eshwara
Venkat Eshwara is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Development, Placements and Alumni Relations). He has been associated with the Ashoka University project since 2013. While his principal role is fundraising globally for Ashoka, he has essayed multiple roles at the university. (read more)
Neeta Gupta
Neeta Gupta has been working towards creating publishing connectivities across different languages and cultures for over two decades. She is also the chief editor of Anuvad, the Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad’s quarterly journal on translation. (read more)
Sanchit Toor
Sanchit Toor is interested in the questions of language, orality, religion, translation, and performance. Working with languages such as Hindi, Haryanvi, Brajbhasha, and Punjabi, he’s occupied with early modern and modern literary and religious communities in North India. (read more)

Anisur Rahman
Anisur Rahman is a bilingual poet in English and Urdu, translator, and literary critic. Formerly a Professor of English at Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central University in New Delhi, and then Senior Advisor at Rekhta Foundation, the world’s largest website on Urdu language, literature, and culture, he has worked and published in the areas of comparative, translation, postcolonial, and Urdu studies. He has six books, five edited/co-edited volumes, and two collections of Urdu poetry in English translation to his credit. (read more)
Francesca Orsini
Francesca Orsini is Professor Emerita of Hindi and South Asian Literature at SOAS, University of London, a Fellow of the British Academy, and the author of The Hindi Public Sphere (2002) and Print and Pleasure (2009), and editor of Love in South Asia: A Cultural History (2006) and Before the Divide: Hindi and Urdu Literary Cultures (2010). Her edited volume on Hinglish (with Ravikant) has recently apperead with Orient BlackSwan, New Delhi (2022). She is also interested in literary multilingualism in the longue durée. (read more)
Meena Kandasamy
Meena Kandasamy (b. 1984) is an anti-caste activist, poet, novelist, and translator. Her writing aims to deconstruct trauma and violence, while spotlighting the militant resistance against caste, gender, and ethnic oppressions. She explores this in her poetry and prose, most notably in her books Touch (2006), Ms. Militancy (2010), The Gypsy Goddess (2014), and others. Her novels have been shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, the International Dylan Thomas Prize, the Jhalak Prize, and the Hindu Lit Prize. (read more)

Nivedita Menon, Professor at Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, is the author of Seeing like a Feminist (2012). Apart from research papers in Indian and international journals, her previous books are Recovering Subversion: Feminist Politics Beyond the Law (2004); and (co-written) Power and Contestation: India after 1989 (2007/2nd Edition 2014). She also has two edited volumes Gender and Politics in India (1999) and Sexualities (2007); and a co-edited book Critical Studies in Politics. Exploring Sites, Selves, Power (2013). (read more)
Robert Young
Robert J.C. Young, FBA, is Julius Silver Professor of English and Comparative Literature at New York University. His most recent work has involved editing, with Jean Khalfa, a collection of unpublished and uncollected work by Frantz Fanon, appearing first in the original French and subsequently translated into English as Alienation and Freedom (London: Bloomsbury, 2018; 3 volume paperback, 2020). A historical study of Fanon is forthcoming. Young is editor of the journal Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies. (read more)

Sundar Sarukkai works primarily in the philosophy of the natural and the social sciences. He is the founder of Barefoot Philosophers and is currently a Visiting Faculty at the Centre for Society and Policy, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Kamalakar Bhat
Kamalakar Bhat is Professor and Head of the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Research Centre for English of Ahmednagar College, Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.
